輪島の地元材であるヒノキアスナロを使用し、漆ならではのふっくらとした質感で仕上げた「上塗小判箸」。
「輪島地の粉」を用いた下地を施し、中塗り、上塗りと丁寧に塗りを重ね仕上げています。
断面が小判型の箸はとても珍しい形です。長辺の部分が指の間に安定するので、たいへん持ちやすくしっくりと手に馴染みます。上品な色と艶が美しく、ヒノキアスナロ特有の軽さ、さらに心地よい口当たりが特徴です。
毎日の食事を上質な時間にしてくれます。

Elegantly finished chopsticks designed for comfort and balance.

Crafted from locally sourced Wajima wood, Thujopsis dolabrata, these Top Coated Oblong Chopsticks showcase the refined beauty of traditional urushi lacquer. Their smooth surface and soft texture offer a pleasant feel in the hand, making them ideal for both everyday dining and special occasions.
Each pair is meticulously finished using the traditional techniques of Wajima lacquerware. A base layer of Wajima jinoko—a fine powder made from diatomaceous earth collected from Mt. Komine in Wajima City, then fired and crushed—is carefully applied to strengthen the foundation. The chopsticks are then polished and coated with multiple layers of urushi lacquer, including a middle coat and a final top coat, creating exceptional durability and a deep, elegant luster.
The oblong shape of these chopsticks is distinctive and relatively rare. The gently contoured upper section rests naturally between the fingers, providing a secure grip and making them easy and comfortable to use.
Lightweight yet durable, thanks to the natural qualities of Thujopsis dolabrata, these chopsticks feel beautifully balanced in the hand. Their refined colors and lustrous finish add a subtle elegance to the dining table.
